The Continental GT is Bentley's flagship grand tourer and every one of them is built by hand at the Crewe factory in England. A 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine produces 626 horsepower, 0 to 60 takes 3.6 seconds, top speed is 207 mph, and the car weighs 4,950 pounds. It is not a light car, but the ride quality at highway speed is extraordinary. Inside, every surface that is not leather is real wood veneer or polished aluminum, and the rotating center console display flips between a 12.3-inch touchscreen, three analog gauges, and a blank wood panel on command.

The hand-built interior is what sets the Bentley apart. Ferrari and Lamborghini cabins are assembled. Bentley cabins are made. The leather is quilted by hand. The stitching is hand-guided. The wood veneers are mirror-matched by a craftsperson who signs the dashboard. You can walk through the Crewe factory on a public tour and watch the people who built your rental car still standing at the same bench making the next one.

Best Places to Drive a Bentley in Las Vegas

Las Vegas to Los Angeles (4 hours each way) — A one-day round trip to LA is the classic grand-touring drive for this car. Take I-15 south, stop in Baker for a coffee and a photo with the giant thermometer, and arrive in Beverly Hills in time for lunch.

Lake Mead Scenic Drive and Hoover Dam — 45 minutes southeast of the Strip to the dam, then Lakeshore Drive along the north edge of Lake Mead. Low traffic, smooth pavement, and the Bentley's ride quality makes every elevation change feel like it is not there.

Valley of Fire State Park — 1 hour northeast of downtown. The scenic drive through the red sandstone formations is one of the most photogenic roads in Nevada and the Bentley looks at home parked in front of the ancient rock walls.
